A mother and her 21-month-old child were walking across Bayshore Boulevard the other day, never suspecting what was to come. Unfortunately, a car came along and struck the child and her mother. The mother, Jessica Raubenolt, died directly after the accident and her child was taken to the hospital initially.
The vehicle that struck them both was driven by a car engaged in a street race. Three people have since been arrested for the accident.
However, the child has now died due to her injuries. This means that the charges against the drivers involved will be upgraded and they could be seeing more time in prison. They are seeing two charges of vehicular homicide instead of just one.
