30-Year-Old Passenger, Derek Varner, Killed in Accident

30-year-old Crestview man, Derek Varner, was killed early on Saturday morning in a Crestview accident. The accident happened when two vehicles collided nearly head-on. Derek Varner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and died at the scene. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Calvin Wilks.

According to a press release, the crash was alcohol-related. An individual in the other vehicle was also seriously injured. The 19-year-old woman was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment.
