In Wesley Chapel yesterday morning, two people were injured in a hot air balloon accident when the balloon hit a power line near a shopping center. At the time of the accident, the balloon was approaching a landing spot when its basket hit the line. Three adults were in the balloon at the time.
When deputies and fire rescue crews responded to the accident, they found that two of the people inside the balloon had non-life-threatening injuries. The two were identified as 37-year-old Hector Vega and 33-year-old Ashley Vega. The pilot of the balloon, 62-year-old Michael Braun, was not injured. The passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The company is called Aerial Adventure Tampa Bay. Now the National Transportation and Safety Board are investigating the incident.
