Jacksonville Police have been working diligently to end accidents that take the lives of pedestrians and cyclists. Early yesterday morning, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at Martin Luther King Parkway. Officials were looking for a driver in a white-extended cab semi.
Originally, the driver left the scene of the bicyclist fatality, and they believe that he might not have known that he hit somebody at first. However, he returned hours later. He was pulled over as a suspect and was found trying to put in GPS coordinates. The police believe that he did not know the crash happened and is not being charged.
Four pedestrian deaths have happened in 2 days in this area.
