Boynton Beach, FL (December 29, 2019) - A 29-year-old woman was killed as she stood along the shoulder of I-95 in Boynton Beach on Friday, December 27th. The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrived on the scene shortly after the crash occurred. According to reports, Roxene M. Foster's 2007 Hyundai Tucson became disabled and was parked on the shoulder, along with a 2013 Hyundai. Troopers say that a 2005 Acura driven by 56-year-old Dennis Maza Bodee left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder, striking Foster. She was thrown into the air and hit the windshield of the 2013 Hyundai before landing in the grass. Foster died from injuries suffered in the crash. Bodee continued traveling after the impact and was stopped by witnesses approximately a half-mile from the crash scene.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed until about 10:30 a.m. as officials investigated at the scene. Charges are pending against Bodee at this time.
There approximately eight fatal crashes reported every day in Florida. Many deadly accidents claim the lives of innocent victims and it appears that this crash in Boynton Beach is no exception. There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a loved one to a Florida car accident, especially when the victim is completely free from any fault in the collision.
Our condolences are with the family of Roxene Foster during this time.
