A Boynton Beach train accident occurred this morning, taking the life of one person. This also marks the fifth death involving a high-speed rail service since beginning operations early this year. An unidentified man was struck and killed around 11:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Federal Highway.
By this afternoon, police were still investigating the name of the man. Trains were stopped on both tracks in both directions. Passengers who were on board at the time said that they felt a sudden jolt before the train came to a stop. They were told that the train would be temporarily delayed.
The passengers were transferred when police arrived.
