Bradenton, FL (February 28, 2019) - A 19-year-old man was critically hurt in a hit-and-run crash in a hotel parking lot on Tamiami Trail on Thursday, February 27th.
The incident took place at the Lantern Inn and Suites, near Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, around 7:45 a.m. At that time, the driver of a 2003 Kia Sedona attempted to make a left turn from the road into a nearby gas station. As the driver attempted to complete the turn, the Kia collided with a 2018 Audi A3, driven by the 19-year-old. As the Audi driver swerved to avoid the crash, it was struck in the right side by the Kia, causing it to overturn in the hotel parking lot.
The Audi struck a retaining wall near the hotel pool and also a parked vehicle before coming to rest. The driver was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

A 22-year-old woman was killed in a Kissimmee car accident on Sunday, July 19th. The crash happened on Buenaventura Boulevard near Wagon Circle just after midnight. According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes, the unidentified woman was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Buenaventura. Suddenly, and for unknown reasons, the car left the roadway to the right and crashed into a tree. The woman died at the scene from her injuries. The driver suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. A one-year-old boy in the vehicle sustained only minor injuries. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Read more
