Bradford County, FL (September 5, 2018) - A woman died on Monday after a rollover crash on US 301. The crash happened around 12:30 pm. According to Florida Highway Patrol, 30 year old Lydia Pons was driving a Chevy pickup in the southbound lanes of US 301, near Southwest 95th Street.
Pons attempted to change lanes but suddenly lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle flipped and Pons was ejected in the crash. The four children, who were wearing seat belts, were all hurt but are expected to recover.
Pons was the owner of a local grooming service Bed Bath & Barks.
There is no word on what caused the vehicle to roll over and the accident is still under investigation.
We are very saddened to hear of this tragic crash involving Lydia Pons. A fatal accident is always very difficult. It is made even more difficult when the victim is a young person with a long life ahead of them. The void left by such crashes is immeasurable and can never be filled as the family is forced to move forward without their loved one.
A full investigation into this crash will take place. Authorities will look at several factors to determine what might have caused the rollover to occur. They will examine speed, vehicle equipment, roadway conditions and witness statements, among other things. A final crash report will then be completed with an official cause listed.
