According to police, the unidentified victim attempted to cross Chiquita Boulevard when he was hit by a red Lincoln. The scooter driver sustained head injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. There is no further word on his condition at this time. The driver of the Lincoln was not hurt. Police have not released any further details on the cause of the crash or the events leading up to it.
There is no further information at this time.
We wish to extend our sympathies to the scooter driver who was injured in this Cape Coral crash. Those who ride scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles are at risk of being involved in a serious crash at any time. These vehicles offer less protection from the force of serious crashes in comparison to larger vehicles, such as passenger cars and trucks. A scooter driver may be thrown from their vehicle following the crash, which increases the potential for serious head and neck injuries to occur.
