A capsized boat caused six people to have to be rescued, including a 6-year-old. A 3-month-old and a 4-year-old were thrown into the waters almost five miles from shore. A volunteer rescuer saw the boat and said that nobody else was out there at the time, so they jumped into action to save lives.
One of the women on the boat said that a wave came over the back of the boat and flipped the boat so quickly that they weren’t even able to put out a mayday. The coast guard took the two children and two of the adults to a Marina, where emergency responders checked for injuries and got them treatment.
