The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported on a two tractor-trailer collision and a horse that left a driver with serious injuries. The crash took place on Wednesday on Commonwealth Avenue.
Both trucks, at the time, were traveling in opposite directions. They hit the horse, which was standing in the middle of the road. At the same time, 31-year-old Christopher Sears was traveling south with a load of sand and flipped the truck into a ditch. He is in stable condition at a hospital currently.
55-year-old Robert Billings was hauling corn in the northbound lane and was uninjured in the accident.
