Hit-and-run crashes are a major source of all serious and fatal crashes reported in Florida. In fact, approximately one-quarter of all reported accidents are hit-and-run collisions. This means that nearly 100,000 accidents each year are hit-and-run where a driver chooses to leave the scene of the collision before authorities can arrive. Many hit-and-run accidents occur due to some form of driver negligence which will leave victims and their families with certain legal rights in the aftermath of the crash.
