Dania Beach, FL (November 30, 2019) - One person is dead following a multi-car crash on I-95 in Dania Beach on Saturday, November 30th. The collision took place around 2:00 a.m. on I-95, near the exit for Griffin Road.
The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the highway. According to officials, there were three cars involved. No word was given on the details leading up to the crash. Multiple agencies responded to the accident site. There is no information at this time on whether anyone else was injured and the name of the deceased victim was not immediately released. The crash caused the highway to close for nearly four hours while police remained at the scene.

A bicyclist riding on US-1 was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday, June 22nd. The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway. The deceased bicyclist has been identified as Bobby Griffis. Police say that Griffis was attempting to cross US-1 from west to east when he was struck by a southbound Hyundai Elantra. The front of the Elantra collided with Griffis and the Elantra driver soon fled the scene. A witness called the police and tracked the vehicle down. The driver of the Elantra was later identified as 48-year-old Lisa Marie Ekstrom, of Merritt Island. Ekstrom was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash involving death. Read more
