Dania Beach, FL (August 2, 2018) – In Dania Beach, three people were injured in a car crash along Federal Highway. One of the three people has died due to the accident.
21-year-old Adam Abdou-Essa of Davie suffered severe brain injuries due to the crash which took place just after 4 a.m. on July 25 and subsequently succumbed to his injuries and died days later. 38-year-old Carlos Varas was driving on the wrong side of the road before he collided with Abdou-Essa’s Civic.
Abdou-Essa's sister said that the family continued praying for five days while he fought against the severe injuries sustained during the crash. Initially, they believed he had a chance for recovery from his serious injuries. Now, his family is reaching out to the community looking for help to pay his medical bills and funeral expenses.
Abdou-Essa’s friend was in the vehicle at the time of the crash as well, and he was also seriously injured. However, he is expected to recover fully.
Varas was treated at the hospital but has since been released. No charges have yet been filed, but the crash is still under investigation by police at this time.
