Daytona Beach, FL (January 13, 2020) - Two people were taken to a local hospital following a two-car crash in Daytona Beach. The crash was reported around 12:50 p.m. on US 92 near the intersection with Lincoln Street.
Police say that Timothy Williamson was driving a Chevy truck eastbound on 92 when he struck a Ford that was in the outside lane. Investigators believe that Williamson may have been trying to merge when the accident took place. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to veer from the roadway. Willamson's truck collided with a restaurant supply building. Both Williamson and his passenger sustained very minor injuries. The female Ford driver and her passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No additional details are available at this time.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims in this crash and we hope for a speedy recovery.
Car accidents can take place anywhere at any time. This year alone, Florida will experience approximately 250,000 injury crashes. In many of these crashes, an innocent victim will suffer injuries at the hands of a negligent driver. Reckless driving, speeding, impairment, and distraction are all common causes of accidents on Florida's streets and highways.
