Yesterday around 3 in the afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol announced an accident in Gadsden County near mile marker 168. The driver was identified as 55-year-old Deeann Cushing Harris. She died from injuries relating to the accident.
The accident occurred when Harris was traveling behind a Ford pickup truck. She collided into the back of the truck for unknown reasons. This caused Harris to travel to the north shoulder of the road when the car, which was still in motion, landed in the grassy area of the shoulder. It eventually ended up in the emergency lane of the road.
Harris was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
