Upon arrival, FHP troopers discovered a single car crash with two people injured. The car rolled over after impact. A trauma alert was called in and a medical helicopter arrived to transport at least one person to the hospital with serious injuries. There is no word on their condition or what caused this crash to occur. The names of the individuals involved in the crash have not been released.
Traffic was heavily delayed as the road was blocked following the accident. Motorists in the area were forced to find detours as police investigated the crash and cleared wreckage at the accident scene.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
In Florida, a reportable crash happens approximately every 90 seconds. Many people have a false sense of security while inside their vehicles. They believe that they cannot or will not be involved in a crash. This can lead to negligent and reckless driving which, eventually, results in a crash. This accident is subject to further investigation so that officers can determine the cause. It does appear that at least one passenger suffered injuries. If it turns out the driver was negligent in causing the accident, the passenger could bring a personal injury claim against the driver.
