A woman was knocked unconscious in a personal watercraft accident that happened this past month. The Destin boating accident took place when an employee of a rental company was knocked unconscious after she took the company’s personal watercraft onto the water in the Gulf of Mexico.
The 25-year-old was luckily not on her own but instead in the presence of three other employees. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was called to the scene to investigate.
The company was not renting out watercrafts that day because of weather conditions ahead of a storm that was coming through, so she and the other employees took them out without being authorized to do so.
The woman jumped over a wave on her vehicle and landed sideways in the water. The employees saw her head strike the hood of the watercraft. She fell into the water and lost consciousness before her companions were able to pull her to safety.
The woman was then taken to the ER and was evaluated for several hours. She claimed that she was sore and that her head hurt after she regained consciousness. She was then cited for the incident.
