A crash with serious injuries was reported on State Road 53 North in Madison on Friday afternoon. The distracted driving accident took place when two vehicles were traveling north on SR 53 as a sedan attempted to make a right and started slowing down. That’s when the driver of a truck was not paying attention to the road and didn’t take notice that the sedan was trying to turn. This caused the front of the truck to collide with the back of the car.
The driver and passenger of the sedan were both seriously injured and transported to Memorial Hospital. The passenger of the vehicle also had serious injuries. Now, the driver of the truck is facing charges of careless driving.
