A crash happened this morning that shut down part of Interstate 75. It was a dump truck and food truck accident that happened between the vehicles under the Estero Parkway.
The drivers of both vehicles were seriously injured and both were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital as trauma alerts. However, at this time, we are not sure exactly how severe their injuries were. Because both vehicles are large and the accident caused many damages, it is best to play on the safe side.
The accident took place when both trucks were headed northbound and the dump truck’s tire blew out. This caused the driver to suddenly lose control, which made him drive into the side of the food truck. Both vehicles went through the guardrail.
