Dunnellon, FL - Two Teens Involved in Fatal Crash on SW 108th Street

Dunnellon, FL (May 24, 2020) - Two teens were involved in a serious crash that took place in Dunnellon on Saturday, May 23rd. The crash was reported on SW 108th Street near the intersection with SW 186th Circle.

According to reports, a 16-year-old boy from Fort Lauderdale was traveling at a high rate of speed on SW 108th when he made a right turn onto SW 186th. The vehicle spun out of control and left the roadway before crashing into a tree. After the impact, the car burst into flames. The 16-year-old boy died at the scene. His 17-year-old passenger was airlifted to Shands Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. The Marion County Fire Rescue assisted at the crash scene.

No additional information has been released.
