A serious accident happened in Naples this morning around 7:20 a.m. in the morning. The crash was so severe that it shut down southbound lanes of US 41. The accident happened on the Gulf Park Drive.
The accident kept roadway lanes shut down until 10:20 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that there was one fatality and one person was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Though no names have yet been released, we know that one person died at the scene of the accident and that one person was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter on trauma alert.
Drivers were told to avoid the area in entirety until they cleared the scene. North Collier Fire was called to the scene to help.
