Flagler County, FL (April 4, 2019) - Two cars were involved in a rollover crash on US-1 near Royal Palms Parkway on Wednesday, April 2nd, around 12:05 p.m.
Police say that a red SUV pulled out of Education Way onto US-1. At the same time, a Chevy Tahoe was traveling southbound on US-1. The two vehicles collided with one another in a T-bone style crash. The Tahoe then rolled over and traveled about 35 yards from the site of impact, causing the driver to be partially ejected.
The Palm Coast Fire Department and Flagler County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and transported the Tahoe driver to Halifax Hospital in Daytona. There is no word on the complete nature or extent of the driver's injuries. The SUV driver was not injured.
Police are still investigating to determine which driver had the right-of-way at the time of the collision.
A reportable car accident occurs about every 92 seconds in Florida. Many crashes occur due to failure to yield the right-of-way, failure to stop at stop signs or red lights, and other basic traffic infractions.
