Fort Lauderdale, FL - FHP Trooper Seriously Hurt in I-95 Crash

Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 17, 2021) - A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a car accident that occurred in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, June 17th. The crash happened on Interstate 95 near the ramp for Davie Boulevard.
According to reports, a female trooper was traveling eastbound on Davie when a driver attempted to make a left turn. The driver failed to yield the right of way and struck the right side of the trooper's vehicle. The unidentified trooper was taken to Broward General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger in the car suffered minor injuries. No further information is available.
A reportable crash takes place in Florida about every 92 seconds. First responders and police officers are constantly at risk of being injured in traffic crashes due to the frequency with which they are on the roadways. Fortunately, it appears as though the trooper who was hurt in this Fort Lauderdale car accident will make a complete recovery from her injuries.
