Gadsden County, FL – Interstate 10 Accident Leads to Minor Injuries

Gadsden County, FL (July 1, 2018) – A Gadsden County Interstate 10 accident led to minor injuries. Luckily, no serious injuries were reported and the injured party was injured.

Interstate 10 was backed up for about an hour after the driver swerved into a median on Saturday. The incident took place around 8:00 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that 27-year-old Richard Smith was traveling in the eastbound lane when he noticed there was heavy traffic. However, he was not able to stop in time and swerved to the left. This caused him to enter into the median and crash into a guardrail.

The trailer on the side of Smith’s truck was blocking the eastbound lane while the truck was stuck on the guardrail. Luckily, he only sustained minor injuries.

Motorcycle riders are the most likely type of motor vehicles to be involved in fatal crashes. Florida actually has the most motorcycle crash fatalities in the nation. In 2015 alone, 606 people lost their lives.
