A fatal crash takes place approximately every three hours across our state. Those who work on and around streets and highways are especially vulnerable to being struck by vehicles, especially at night or in early morning hours, where visibility is reduced. For these reasons, there are laws in place which require drivers to slow down and take extra precautions when traveling through designated work zone areas. Unfortunately, in this case, the safety precautions did not prevent a tragedy from occurring.
