A man was driving the wrong way on the Interstate early this morning, leading to a fiery crash. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Gerard Ellis. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Ellis was in his 2006 Nissan Sentra north on southbound I-95 when he collided with a driver in a 2014 Audi. The collision was so forceful that it caused Ellis’ car to spin across the highway and the engine burst into flames.
The Audi driver was also injured and rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition. There were significant traffic delays after the accident.
