30-year-old Gerardo Yslas lost his life on Thursday in a serious accident when his sedan crashed head-on into a dump truck. The accident took place in Wimauma around 6 p.m.
The accident took place when Yslas was driving his Altima south on US 301 and Ariel Valera-Ramirez was driving his dump truck at the same time. Yslas suddenly crossed over the center line of the road and drove into the path of the dump truck. He was then taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Valera-Ramirez suffered minor injuries. Both wore seatbelts at the time.
