29-year-old Gregory Germaine Pye was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a death, which is a felony in Florida. The accident left one man dead on Saturday.
At the time of the accident, Dade City Police showed up to Blanton Road, only to find a person lying on the roadway. The 53-year-old, Thomas Michael Burdeshaw, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was evidence left at the scene, which led police to Pye’s vehicle. Pye actually returned to the scene of the crash and saw that he had killed Burdeshaw, but he did not report it to the police.

A man pushing his bicycle on U.S. 27 was killed when he was hit by a car on Wednesday, May 26th. The accident took place just after 9:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the roadway. Police say that the deceased victim was a male. His name and age have not been released at this time. There were two women in the vehicle, a 64-year-old and a 77-year-old woman. Neither woman was injured in the crash. The crash is currently under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol and it is unclear whether any charges are expected to be filed. Read more
