An infant received critical injuries in a Gainesville accident. The 2-month old, Gabriel Elias, and mother, Gretchen Medina, were both seriously injured. The father, Kenny Elias, also gained injuries in the accident.
On Tuesday night when the accident occurred, Gabrial Elias was stable and taken to the hospital in an ambulance, which took her to a local helicopter so that she could be flown to the hospital. She was still in critical condition this morning.
The accident happened when a sports vehicle SUV was approaching a stop sign while a Toyota Corolla was traveling at the same time. The driver in the SUV didn’t stop at the stop sign and slammed into the side of the vehicle. The SUV struck on the side where the child’s car seat was positioned.
The driver of the SUV had non-life-threatening injuries as well.
