On Sunday, a jet ski accident took place off the Courtney Campbell Causeway. It claimed the life of Alberto Portales Fernandez the same day, who was also driving another jet ski at the time. The second person to be involved in the accident was 41-year-old Helen Gore, who was taken to the hospital immediately following the accident. Sources have confirmed that she died yesterday due to her severe injuries.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is still looking into the accident to see how exactly it occurred. The main cause of these accidents are collisions with other jet skis and collisions with fixed objects.
