Hillsborough County, FL (June 29, 2019) - A 27-year-old man died after his motorcycle was hit by a car in Hillsborough County. The crash took place on Thursday, June 27th, around 9:05 p.m.
Edwin Barreto Velazquez was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Hillsborough Avenue. That is when 24-year-old Jonathan David Deal attempted to exit a McDonald's parking lot in a 2010 Ford Mustang. Deal attempted to cross all lanes of traffic and move into the left turn lane. As he pulled out, however, he turned directly into the path of Velazquez's motorcycle. The two collided with one another, forcing the motorcycle into a concrete median.
Velazquez was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital following the crash, where he later succumbed to his injuries. There is no word on whether Deal was hurt. Charges are pending against him at this time.
