Hillsborough County, FL (December 26, 2018) - A 79-year-old pedestrian sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Christmas Day. The incident took place on State Road 60 in the westbound lanes.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Nelson Morales was walking south, near a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound vehicle near Valrico Road. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 79-year-old Daniel Kesler. Morales sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. There is no further word on his condition at this time.
Police continue to investigate the incident. It remains unclear whether any charges will be filed. There is no additional information available.

A 35-year-old woman was killed and two others were hurt following a car accident on Wednesday, July 22nd in Orlando. The crash was reported on I-4 just west of Sand Lake Road. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m. According to FHP reports, a 25-year-old man from Orlando was driving westbound on I-4 when he struck the car in front of him. The driver of the second vehicle, a 35-year-old woman from Orlando had slowed down to provide assistance to a vehicle that was on the shoulder of I-4. The 35-year-old woman was ejected from her vehicle. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
