Jackson County, FL (August 17, 2018) – A tractor-trailer accident took place in Jackson County that led to minor injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol has been investigating the incident, which happened around 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday on US Highway 231.
According to the FHP, the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control because of the wet conditions on the roadways, which led to the tractor-trailer spinning out of control. The truck and trailer ran off the side of the road, then sliding down an embankment on the shoulder of the highway.
The driver was found and quickly transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He only sustained minor injuries due to the incident.
At this time, FHP is unsure if the driver was wearing a seatbelt or not. They also said that alcohol did not play a factor in the accident and that charges are pending. The investigation continues at this time.
