Two bad crashes happened during rush hour on Wednesday – one in Orange Park and a very serious accident in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville accident happened near I-295 and was so serious that it caused three people to be taken to the hospital, two of which had to be flown from the scene in medical helicopters.
An SUV changed lanes while a freight truck was making a turn. The SUV ran into the back of the truck. Two people had to be extracted from the vehicle. The two men are listed in critical condition as of today. The driver of the truck is still in serious conditions.

Police and rescue workers responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Jacksonville on Monday, January 18th. The accident took place around 1:45 p.m. on West 45th Street near the intersection with Vernon Road. The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department was among the first agencies at the scene. According to a report from officials, several cars were involved in the accident but the cause of the crash is unclear at this time. At least five people sustained undisclosed injuries but the JFRD described the scene as a mass casualty incident. Multiple units were dispatched to respond to the collision.
