Jacksonville, FL (September 10, 2019) - A 94-year-old Jacksonville died after suffering injuries in a pedestrian crash in a KFC parking lot. The crash initially occurred on Sunday, September 8th.
According to reports, Ruth Long had just left church and was in the parking lot of the KFC on Dunn Avenue when she was hit by the car. Long had exited her vehicle when another vehicle backed into her knocking her to the ground. Long appeared to be fine after the crash but complained about having pain in her shoulder. She went home but later began experiencing complications due to internal bleeding. Long eventually succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified at this time, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. There is no word on whether any charges are expected. No further details are available at this time.

A rollover crash involving two vehicles on the Sawgrass Expressway sent at least one driver to the hospital with injuries. The crash took place in Coral Springs around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21st. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene just after the accident occurred. A black vehicle with heavy damage was seen laying on its side in the northbound lanes. An SUV could also be seen with front-end damage further down the road. The crash caused a broken guardrail. Rescue units also responded to the scene and at least one person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
