Jacksonville, FL (June 10, 2021) - Police and rescue workers were at the scene of a major crash in Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon. The accident happened on the Buckman Bridge.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the collision. According to a report, at least one person sustained injuries in the collision. The cause of the accident is not known at this time. Traffic was backed up for about 1.5 miles at the scene as drivers experienced heavy delays and were advised to avoid the area if possible. The identity of the injured victim is not known.
No further information is available. The crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

A female pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place on US 301 in Tampa. The collision was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th. According to reports, a 20-year-old female pedestrian from Pinellas Park, FL was walking northbound on 301 when she was struck by a car driven by a 43-year-old male from Pennsylvania. The driver told police that he could not see the pedestrian and that he made an evasive maneuver in an attempt to avoid a crash. The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
