Jacksonville, FL – Pedestrian Struck in Mandarin Parking Lot

Jacksonville, FL (June 20, 2018) – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was called to the scene of a pedestrian accident. The accident took place in a Mandarin parking lot and police report that the pedestrian was run over by a vehicle.

The person was seriously injured in the accident that took place this Wednesday morning. Police say that the person was run over in the Walmart parking lot on San Jose Boulevard. He was trapped under the vehicle as a result.

The victim was standing in a parking spot when the vehicle came driving through, trying to find a place to park. Crews were able to successfully remove the pedestrian from under the vehicle. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital.

The driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with police. Jacksonville police were speaking with witnesses so that they could gather more information.

Almost 10,000 pedestrians were injured in accidents that happened last year. Many of these accidents are preventable.
