Hit-and-run crashes account for about 25% of all reported accidents in our state. Annually, there are more than 100,000 hit-and-run accidents. While not all of these collisions will involve injury, many of them do. In this crash, it appears as though the driver was negligent by striking a pedestrian who was walking on the shoulder of the roadway at the time of the crash. When a driver's negligence leads directly to the death of an innocent person, the victim's next-of-kin possesses the right to bring a wrongful death claim against the negligent driver.
