Jacksonville, FL - Six Hurt when Senior Center Bus Strikes Beam in Parking Garage

Jacksonville, FL (April 9, 2019) - Six people suffered injuries in a crash involving a senior citizen bus on Tuesday, April 9th. The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. in a garage near an entertainment facility known as Main Event.
Police say that a bus carrying nine passengers from the Starling Assisted Living Facility was traveling to Main Event on a day trip. As the bus entered the garage, it struck an overhead concrete barrier. Six passengers were hurt with injuries described as minor to moderate. Some of the victims were cut by flying glass from the bus, while others simply had bumps and bruises. The identity of the victims has not been released.
The parking garage remained closed off until after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
