A Jacksonville man named Jesse Watkins is working toward recovery after receiving serious burns in a lawn mower accident. The accident happened when his lawn mower hit a gas line and suddenly burst into flames. Watkins was mowing a client’s lawn on Hamilton Street at the time when he suddenly hit something. When he turned to see what the noise was, his face was burned.
Watkins called 911 and was rushed to the hospital. He remembers being taken out of the ambulance but nothing after that except for waking up in a burn unit in the hospital.
He received first-degree burns on his face but third-degree burns on his arm.
