Before 6:00 p.m. on Crawfordville Highway, Florida Highway Patrol reported that a driver in a Jeep Cherokee was driving south when he began slowing so that he could make a right turn. When he did so, 65-year-old John Collins, who was traveling by motorcycle, struck the back of the vehicle from not stopping in time.
Collins was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into the rear windshield of the Jeep. He then fell to the ground. Luckily, he only sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Collins received a citation for following too closely.
