Jorge Ruoco was injured and remains hospitalized after a bicycle accident that happened Tuesday evening on the Rickenbacker Causeway. He was heading west when he was struck in the bike lane. He is a 50-year-old who loves cycling and has been doing it for 30 years.
When the accident occurred, he went flying face-first from the bike. He was luckily wearing his helmet at the time. The driver fled the scene, according to police.
He is now in stable condition, but he has some serious fractures that could impact him for the rest of his life, especially to his spine.
