Keith Maulbeck was T-boned by a car yesterday in Citrus County. The 63-year-old man said that there wasn’t much he could do except go along for the ride when the pickup truck was struck and his vehicle rolled several times. He was hit by 85-year-old Shirley Barbara Payne, who was traveling in her red Ford Focus and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
Her vehicle struck the side of Maulbeck’s truck. Both drivers had their seatbelts on. It was determined that Maulbeck received minor injuries and refused hospital treatment.
When Payne was asked, she didn’t remember much about the accident. She was cited for failing to yield for traffic.
