Kissimmee, FL (October 29, 2018) - A man from Kissimmee died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, October 27th.
Police say that 65 year old Robert Ferguson was traveling on a 2014 Harley Davidson about 8:00 pm. As Ferguson rode down Poinciana Boulevard, he was struck by a Toyota Camry that pulled into his path. The Camry was attempting to make a left turn at the time of the crash according to Kim Montes, spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol.
Ferguson was rushed to Osceola Medical Center but later died from his injuries. The Camry driver has been identified as 30 year old Sheldon Williams. Charges are pending against Williams at this time.
In 2015, over 9,000 people were injured as a result of motorcycle accidents in Florida. This number is very high, considering that less than 3% of all registered vehicles are motorcycles. At Rubenstein Law, we know how serious a motorcycle accident can be.
It appears in this accident that Sheldon Williams is legally responsible because he failed to yield to Robert Ferguson. Failing to yield the right of way is a common negligent driving behavior that leads to accidents in our state.
