Lake County, FL (January 12, 2019) - A fatal crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle was reported on Friday, January 11th in Lake County. The accident occurred on County Road 44 near Cypress Drive.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. The motorcyclist, who has not been identified at this time, sustained life-threatening injuries from the collision. An ambulance rushed the injured motorcyclist to Waterman Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Lake County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash. The other driver was not identified and it is unclear how the crash took place.
Traffic in the area was temporarily diverted while police were on scene. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

One person was sent to the hospital following a crash between two semi-trucks on State Road 33 in Lakeland. The crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on Friday, August 14th. Police responded to the scene near the overpass for Interstate 4. There is no word on the cause of the collision at this time. One person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Neither of the drivers has been identified at this time.
