In Polk County this week, an accident occurred on US 27 involving a tractor-trailer truck and a Nissan Sentra that led to injuries in two parties. Both the truck and the vehicle had massive damages due to the accident.
The accident happened Thursday afternoon when 22-year-old Leeana Porta was traveling south and approaching the exit ramp when she suddenly switched lanes in front of a tractor-trailer driven by 45-year-old Pierre Absalon.
The impact was so forceful that it caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and collide with a guardrail. The truck overturned.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
