An LOPD deputy from the Live Oak Police Department was involved in a crash this weekend while he was responding to another accident.
The officer, named Ryan MacFadden, was heading west with lights and sirens activated while responding to a call. Another vehicle was also heading west driven by 18-year-old Carlton Hall Jr.
MacFadden moved into the left lane to pass Hall but, in doing so, Hall started making a left-hand turn. This caused both of their vehicles to collide.
MacFadden received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Hall and his two passengers, a 17-year-old and 19-year-old, were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Hall received charges of failure to yield right of way.
