Madison County, FL (July 30, 2018) – A two-car Madison County accident left three people injured, two of which sustained serious injuries this past week. 21-year-old Nicholas Sanders was charged with failing to drive in a single lane.
The accident took place around 8 a.m. on State Road 145. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, who investigated the incident, Sanders was driving south, and the other vehicle was traveling north. Sanders crossed the center line and entered into the northbound lane, which caused him to come into contact with the other car.
Both vehicles struck one another, which caused Sanders’ car to run off the roadway and hit a concrete culvert. The vehicle flipped onto its side. Sanders’ vehicle then hit a power pole with the front bumper.
Sanders and his one passenger both suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The driver in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. The other two passengers did not have injuries.
The incident is being investigated, but at this time police do not believe that alcohol played a factor in the event.
