As you continue to heal and cope with a tragic loss, you may have questions about your legal rights. Under Florida law, a deceased's next-of-kin can bring a wrongful death lawsuit against any person whose negligence caused or contributed to the death. Wrongful death lawsuits may allow you to recover compensation on behalf of your family member, including lost wages, funeral and medical bills and payment for loss of companionship.
